How to Get Your Saudi Arabia Job Visa Approved from Tanzania (2026)
Relocating to Saudi Arabia for work has become one of the most rewarding career pathways for Tanzanians today. We see constant demand coming through for healthcare workers, hotel personnel, drivers, and technical tradespeople.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiatives shifted almost every step of the visa process online, mainly through Qiwa, Wafid, and Muqeem. But while digital systems speed things up overall, they also mean that doing steps out of order causes instant system rejections.
If you try to complete your Wafid medical before the employer issues your electronic Wakala, for instance, your clinic results won't link up with the embassy portal.
Here is how the entire work visa pipeline actually moves in practice from Dar es Salaam to your final deployment.
What to Gather Before Opening Any Online Portals
Don't bother booking medical checks or visiting processing centers until these four items are sitting on your desk:
First, check your Tanzanian passport expiry date. It needs at least six months of validity beyond your planned travel date and a couple of blank pages ready for the visa sticker.
Second, secure your official job offer and Electronic Wakala. Your Saudi employer creates this inside their Qiwa company account once they assign your allocated Block Visa Quota.
Third, apply for a fresh Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) through the DCI Headquarters in Dar es Salaam to prove you have no criminal background.
Fourth, pull together your original academic diplomas, degree certificates, or practical trade testing documents matching the exact job title listed on your Saudi contract.
The Real Order of the Visa Application Process
1. Qiwa Contract & Power of Attorney Authorization
Your job starts on the Saudi side. The employer generates a digital employment contract through the Ministry of Human Resources Qiwa portal. You'll review this and sign it electronically. Once completed, they issue an Electronic Wakala giving a licensed Tanzanian recruitment agency authority to handle your physical passport at the embassy.
2. Wafid (GAMCA) Health Screening
Every Tanzanian worker relocating to the Kingdom must pass an official medical exam. You head to the Wafid platform, pay the registration fee, and print your assigned clinic slip. From there, visit the designated clinic in Dar es Salaam for blood work, X-rays, and physical checks. The clinic uploads your "FIT" status directly into the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs database.
3. Sector-Specific Approvals & Labor Verification
Depending on your career field, you'll need a few extra clearance stamps before your file goes to the embassy:
Healthcare staff (nurses, doctors, lab technicians) must run their credentials through DataFlow verification and clear their Mumaris+ evaluation with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Skilled trades require practical testing verification alongside document attestations from MOFA Tanzania.
Everyone needs final labor clearance registered through the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO-LYED) to confirm fair and legal recruitment practices.
4. Embassy Submission & Visa Stamping
After your medical shows up as "FIT" online and all your certificates carry the right stamps, your agency submits your physical passport to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dar es Salaam. They stamp a 90-day single-entry work visa directly into your passport.
5. Arrival in Saudi Arabia and Getting Your Iqama
Upon landing in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dammam, you cross immigration on your fresh passport entry stamp. Your employer then has 90 days to take your biometrics and issue your Iqama (Residency and Work Permit) via the Muqeem portal. This plastic card becomes your official legal ID during your stay in the Kingdom.
Who Pays for What? (Saudi Labor Rules)
Under Article 40 of Saudi Labor Law, the hiring company is legally required to cover your primary recruitment and visa expenses.
That means your employer pays for the Qiwa contract fees, the block visa quota costs, your government work permit levies, pre-departure medical insurance, and your economy flight ticket from Tanzania.
If an agent or broker demands huge "placement fees" out of your own pocket to secure a job, walk away. Always stick to agencies licensed directly by the Ministry of Labor Tanzania.
